Water level is the height of the water surface in a river, measured in centimetres. For anglers it is crucial because it directly affects fish activity — many species become more active at certain levels, especially during a gentle fall after rain.
Data comes directly from official hydrological services: RHMZ (Serbia), ARSO (Slovenia), DHMZ (Croatia), FFWS2 (BiH), ZHMS (Montenegro), Pegelonline (Germany), OVF/vizugy.hu (Hungary) and eHYD with the provincial services (Austria). It is updated every 30 minutes.
The spider chart shows six quantities at a glance: water level, water temperature, flow, air temperature, atmospheric pressure and moonlight. The length of each spoke is how much of that quantity there is right now — the further the vertex sits from the centre, the higher the value. Where the station has enough readings from the past year, the value is ranked against that station's own range. An arrow on a spoke means the value is rising or falling; when it holds steady there is no arrow. The chart does not judge whether the day is good for fishing — that call is yours, based on the river and the species you are after.
